Exploring Abandoned Pathology School With 21 Body Cooler Morgue

Описание: During our latest European road trip, we both knew of this amazing abandoned pathology school with a 21 body cooler morgue that we really wanted to explore. The school, which was part of a much larger hospital campus, had a long standing reputation for teaching the area’s top pathologists and had been recognized for such work several times throughout its years of operation. The school trained medical doctors and other medical students in the field of pathology, where they would study and learn about the various bodily fluids, tissues, and organs, all to correctly diagnose and treat various diseases and illnesses. Furthermore, they would learn the ways of examining entire bodies to find out the root cause of death, also known as an autopsy. The pathology school dated back to the 1911 and was a two story terrazzo strapped beauty that had multiple autopsy tables, an autopsy theater, and a morgue with an unbelievable 21-body cooler, by far the largest morgue that any of had ever seen. The pathology school closed sometime around 2012 after many of the other surrounding hospital buildings had been rebuilt and relocated.
Located in the middle of a busting German city, nestled amongst centuries old buildings, stood the old abandoned pathology school. It’s once grand facade now weathered and worn, some of its windows shattered and others boarded up.
Curiosity had drawn us to this eerie place, a desire to unravel its mysterious past and to see all that lies within its crumbling walls.
We slowly entered the vacant pathology school through a creaking door and we were in complete amazement to discover that the monster 21-body morgue was still there and intact. As we explored further, we found the two twin stainless-steel old autopsy tables with remnants of blood and other bodily fluids from its long-forgotten past. We were met with a chilling silence that echoed through the empty school halls, only the occasional sound of our footsteps could be heard. The place sent shivers down our spines, imagining the souls and bodies that once passed through this institution.
Despite the chill in the air and the feeling of ever-increasing anxiety, we pressed on, our hearts pounding with excitement and dread. Every corner turned revealed more rooms, including an original autopsy theater with rows of wooden fold-down style seats. We couldn’t help to think of the untold stories of the doctors and students who once roamed these same halls and sat in these same classrooms, some eventually becoming leading doctors and pathologists. And that will take us to the end of the abandoned pathology school.

As true urban explorers, we are always on the lookout for interesting abandoned locations to capture the attention of our audience, so when we stumbled upon a mysterious abandoned old mausoleum, we knew that we had to check it out. The mausoleum stood on the edge of a German village, was over 100 year old and allegedly with human remains still inside, we knew that we had to go see this once sacred and now forgotten place in person.
The mausoleum was built in the early 1920s and was constructed by a local noble family who had great fortune at the turn of the century. The mausoleum was meant to hold the remains of each family member, while a once beautiful chapel would have been used for visitation and worship.
This place was sure creepy to explore, but it also helped unlock a century of mystery and intrigue, and we were determined to do the old mausoleum justice by documenting everything that we saw.
