Pellet gun survivor Insha Mustaq, who lost her eyesight in Shopian in 2016 during unrest following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, has called for a complete ban on pellet guns across India. She also stated that the government has failed to fulfill promises made to her. First introduced in Jammu and Kashmir in 2010 under the Omar Abdullah government, pellet guns caused 16 deaths and over 6,000 injuries during the 2016 violence when Mehbooba Mufti led a coalition government with the BJP.
