Welcome back to the channel. I’m Barry, and today we are diving into what is arguably the most "uncomfortable" episode of The Pacific so far. Episode 1 was a "Welcome to Hell," Episode 4 is about living in it.

As a U.S. Army Tanker, I’ve dealt with my fair share of mud, rain, and sleep deprivation during field exercises, but the conditions the 1st Marine Division faced at Cape Gloucester are on a completely different level. This episode shows the battle with nature was just as wretched as the battle with the enemy. The mud, the jungle, the relentless monsoon, and the psychological breakdown that comes with never being dry are enough to break the strongest of people
