Join me for a calm rainy walk filmed early this morning in the beautiful village of Clifton Hampden IN Oxfordshire. The rain creates soft ripples along the River Thames, the red brick cottages glisten under the wet light, and the quiet lanes feel peaceful and atmospheric. This is a gentle, no talking walk capturing the soothing sound of rainfall and the calm of the English countryside.

Clifton Hampden is a historic riverside village in Oxfordshire, known for its striking Victorian red brick cottageS, designed in the mid-19th century by architect Sir George Gilbert Scott. Many of these houses were part of a model estate created by the Hampsden family, giving the village its unique and instantly recognisable look.

The village sits beside a beautiful bend in the River Thames and is home to the Clifton Hampden Bridge, completed in 1867. Built of red brick and stone, this Gothic Revival bridge is one of the most iconic river crossings along the Thames.

At the heart of the village is St Michael & All Angels Church, originally medieval but completely restored by Gilbert Scott in the 1840s. Its elevated position overlooking the river has made it a landmark for centuries.

Surrounded by meadows, woodland paths, and farmland, Clifton Hampden has long been admired for its picturesque charm, especially on quiet, rainy mornings when the colours deepen and the whole village feels calm and timeless.
