"Glory to God in the Highest and on earth Peace, Good will toward men"
Translations try to communicate different views of the text. We wonder how this can be and so try to come up with circumstances under which peace could happen in our lifetime. We will never quit falling short of the Glory of God. God loves us anyway. The Bible says, He IS our peace and has come to earth, not to condemn us; we are already condemned.
The question Mary faced was not "How can this be?" but the same question we face, "Who can make this happen in me and on earth?"
