Today, Modi has become India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister, surpassing the record held by Jawaharlal Nehru. When Nehru served as Prime Minister at the time of independence, he had not been elected by the public; the country's first elections took place in 1952. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru became an elected Prime Minister for the first time in May 1952 and served until May 27, 1964, completing a tenure of 4,398 days in that capacity. Today, Modi has matched this record, having completed 4,399 days as Prime Minister. Additionally, the Modi government has completed 12 years in office. To mark this occasion, an NDA meeting is being held in Delhi today; Prime Minister Modi, senior BJP leaders, and the heads of NDA alliance partners will participate in the meeting scheduled for 3 PM at Bharat Mandapam.
