Twin Falls and NO SWIMMING at the Dam at Devil's Den

Описание: Devil's Den State Park, near Winslow AR, is up there with the best of the many State Parks in Arkansas. Well signed, well maintained and very well visited. Plenty of trails to follow, and the Twin Falls at Devil's Den is one (or two!) of the waterfalls at this State Park.

The park itself is very easy to get to, google it and off you go. Asphalt all the way, so no dirt roads for this at all. Twin Falls here can be found on the Devil's Den Trail. It's clearly signed and marked, and very well trodden, as you'd expect in a state park. All Trails lists this 1.2 mile trail as "moderate", which is probably fair I suppose.

In all reality, much of this trail and it's many short off shoots is pretty easy, but there are places that you have to climb up and down a short ways. Each of those spots is well thought out by the park, and pretty easy to navigate. Very kid friendly, and plenty of rocks, caves and other nooks and crannies to explore on this trail too.

The dam by the visitor center is a masterpiece also. Super Leeds is of the mind set that "No Swimming" applies to humans only, so he got more than his fair share of play time here!

Kid Friendly: Absolutely, but always be mindful of small children.

Leeds is always kept on a leash until we find water he can play in. If he sees or senses deer he'll chase. Water trumps everything for him though. This respects the "Leave no Trace" principles, please do likewise. We adventure often, and he is very well trained now (and patient with me) with regard to climbs and scrambles. Know the limits of your dog, and your ability to handle it if you elect to take it.
