POLICE ARE INVESTIGATION AFTER MAN CRASHES CAR AND REPORTEDLY RUNS INTO DEALERSHIP WITH A GUN

Описание: Peterborough police currently have Towerhill Rd closed at Chemong Road for an active police investigation. There is very little information available at this time but many witnesses have reported seeing a black Jeep Cherokee driving at a high rate of speed North up Chemong Rd, it was reported that the Jeep almost collided with multiple vehicles before failing to negotiate a turn onto Towerhill Rd where the Jeep struck a hydro pole. The driver of the vehicle then reportedly exited the jeep running to the Volkswagen dealership. Several people then reported the driver had a firearm and struck an employee in the head demanding a vehicle. At that point employees and customers evacuated the dealership, police were seen with their guns drawn running into the dealership and at that point it’s not know exactly what happened but shortly after 3 ambulances and a paramedic first response vehicle responded to the scene. Paramedics could be seen bringing a person out on a stretcher performing CPR, before transporting him to PRHC. It’s suspected this is the driver of the Jeep but it can’t be confirmed at this time. Approximately 15 minutes after the ambulance left the scene employees and customers were able to return to the property, it appears they were allowed to get the personal belongings and vehicle keys before leaving. Police have closed off the are, no statement has been issued as of 5p.m., I will update the story as more information becomes available. It’s not yet known if the SIU will be responding to conduct their investigation.
