This is *old-skool palm hammer pad work* as it should be trained in **Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu**.
Not tapping.
Not slapping.
Not stopping your power on the pad.

In this session we break down how palm hammer power really works:
Power comes from the **waist**, not the arms
Open and close the ribs to generate force
Turn the waist to *spit* power and *sink* it
Send power **through the target**, never stop on contact
Correct arm extension (no shortening, no over-reaching)
Short, fast combinations with **intent**, not pauses
Visualisation and mindset – every strike has purpose
Chow Gar Mantis is **not rigid**.
It’s subtle, heavy, and vicious at close range.
You start slow to warm up and build structure.
As the rounds go on, the speed increases.
By the later rounds, you *should be struggling* — that’s real training.
No belts.
No fancy movements.
