Here's Allan on his first tour with Tony Williams, tearing it up on Proto-Cosmos (which was still very fresh at this time). He probably could have quit the guitar after this gig and still be legendary!
"Alphonso told Tony Williams about me. When that came up, I just couldn't believe it - I was completely blitzed. Tony just called me one day and said, 'Let's attack'."
Obviously this was still fairly primitive by Allan's standards, but it's still pretty jaw-dropping to remember that this was only 6 years after Hendrix died, and 2 years before Van Halen's 1st album.
