Описание: Corgi Toys was first launched in 1956 by the Mettoy Company. The name "Corgi" is derived from the Welsh dog breed and the logo can be found on most Corgi pictures and packaging. The toys were produced in Swansea by Mettoy Playcraft Ltd, and the base plates were marked as "made in gt Britain." The first true Corgi model was the 200 Ford Consul, released in 1956. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, some of the best models were released, with TV and movie-themed models being particularly popular among children. The brand's attention to detail, including plastic windows, detailed interiors, opening doors, spare wheels, and various extras, gave Corgi an edge over other die-cast model brands. However, in the 1980s, the company faced challenges due to rising production costs in England, leading to a decline in sales. Despite this, the company was reformed in the mid-1980s and began producing models in special editions, ensuring that the history of Corgi Toys continued.
