Kukwira gomo hupoterera.
This is a Shona proverb that teaches us the value of taking things slow. Slow and steady wins the race.
Sometimes the quickest way to the goal is the slow way around.
In today's ngano the Tagarisana's first born son is keen to get into doing business for himself. He tries everything that he can think of. But in his mind he is not getting to his goal as fast as he would like.
But when his father explains to him that patience is a virtue he begins to realise that he is indeed doing pretty well.
Here are some words you will find in this video. You can read along and say them out loud with Gogo to help you speak Shona faster.

Geja – plough
Karivheta – cultivator
Mugodhi – water well
kukwira gomo hupoterera – Shona proverb meaning that sometimes the quickest way to the destination is achieved by taking the long way round
pamusoro pegomo – the top of the mountain
tande – straight up
uchaworomoka – you will stumble and fall
