Plant's team at Heathcock Hall, a new facility for the University of California, Berkeley's College of Chemistry, discusses the intricate make-ready work that will enable the new building's construction to commence. Located at a busy intersection adjacent to multiple occupied buildings and across from the Greek Theatre, the team's scope includes creative, design-build shoring and coordination of a new concrete structure inside an active air intake by our in-house Concrete Division. Upon completion, the team will begin ground-up construction directly on top of the old air intake next to the new one.
