The Australian High Commission has stepped up security measures after riots and looting broke out in Papua New Guinea.
“People seem to have done a pretty good job at cleaning up the looting and the rioting of yesterday,” Sky News reporter Cheng Lei said.
“But still, there is underlying tension in the air.
“This violence was very, very tragic and very, very unexpected.
“It is quite tragic that we have seen the violence of the past day and it’s going to be a blow to the cost of living which citizens here are already suffering under.”
