We set out to hike the John Muir Trail in August 2025. For Day Fourteen - our summit day of Mt. Whitney - we started out at 3:40 am and passed Timberline Lake under the stars. We filled up on water near Guitar Lake before watching an incredible sunrise, and hiking to the top of Mt. Whitney and the end of the John Muir Trail. From there we started the long trek down to Whitney Portal, and then hitched a ride into Lone Pine
