Jack's Point is a 1200-hectare (3000 acre) settlement in one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. Set on the shores of Lake Wakatipu at the foot of the Remarkables mountain range, it is just 15 minutes from Queenstown, New Zealand.
Carefully master-planned, Jack's Point will feature over 1300 residential homes, a lakeside Village with accommodation, restaurants and shops, alongside its highly-acclaimed championship golf course, and over 25 kms of hiking, biking and equestrian trails.
Jack’s Point is named after a local Māori man, Jack Tewa, who on 9 August 1862 during a storm on Lake Wakatipu dramatically rescued a European by the name of Mitchell. Jack Tewa who is also credited with the first discovery of gold in the Arrow River, Arrowtown, in 1862.
Dickson Jardine purchased Kawarau Station, which included Jack’s Point, on September 14, 1922
Dickson Jardine sold 420 hectares (1000 acres) to Jack's Point Limited in 1999 as a future new settlement. Jack’s Point now covers 1,270 hectare (3,000 acre).
Jack’s Point consists of a Village centre (with retail, residential and accommodation), residential neighbourhoods, recreational trails, sports grounds, and a championship golf course
Jack's Point Village comprises 14.2 hectares of land alongside Lake Tewa
The Village will ultimately service an immediate adjacent population of over 7,000
In addition to the Village, there are six residential neighbourhoods at Jack’s Point. They are: The Highlands, Peregrine Ridge, The Terraces, Coneburn Ridge, The North Terraces, and The Preserve.
Golf course was completed in 2008
18 hole par 72 championship course has five tee positions
The course measures 6388 metres (6986 yards)
New Zealand Golf Magazine ranked Jack’s Point number two in New Zealand in 2020
The course is the winner of the prestigious global tourism IAGTO 2019 Sustainability Award for Nature Protection
