These two Silver Campine chicks are growing up fast and steady! Already losing some of their down and the hard wing feathers are growing.
Here you can just see them scratching away, great little foragers, that's what they're known for.
And getting back to those wing feathers, they're using them too. I already saw them flying half a meter up on a brick wall and then using the wall to launch themselves about a meter and a half out in the pen.
Plus the night after this was shot I found them no longer with their Araucana fostermom in the nest, but the three of them were roosting for the first time about a meter high.
These Silver Campines are not only true heritage chickens, but they're living up to their ancestry as well.
