As birthing season rapidly approaches, we are starting to see pregnant girls getting into all sorts of trouble.
Miss Bernice is a bit of a mystery as she was found on the ground in a member of the publics front yard this morning.
Flying-foxes on the ground are extremely vulnerable to predation by domestic pets and their rescue is a priority.
I can't find anything physically wrong with Bernice but we did have a very windy night on Thursday and I'm wondering if she sustained a concussion and was unable to fly home.
Now in a warm bed with juice and banana on board, this mum to be will be in care for a couple of weeks before hopefully being released back to the wild before her baby arrives.
