What’s up Awesome People This is your stimulus check update, and stimulus package update for Monday June 22nd.

Happy monday, lets go get it. Today we’ll be talking about why even with so much uncertainty and pessimism, there will definitely be a 2nd stimulus check. It’s just a matter of time for the new stimulus package to be given to the people who deserve it.

First off, I hope everyone had a happy father’s day yesterday. It was my first one with this little guy, and with all of the uncertainty, doom and gloom we’ve had this year, remember it is important to spend quality time with the awesome people, that make your life better, and try to bring joy into each other’s lives. So why am I so certain that we will get another stimulus check?

Reason number 1, it is not even stimulus At this point I would say it’s more like a survival check. Hit that like button if you agree that it is more like survival than stimulus at this point. Also Make sure that it turns blue, though I wish it would turn green, because we all know that The first check of 1200 dollars didn’t do too much for most people. That amount can only take you so far in the year 2020.

Reason number 2 This is an election year and people need to have a good feeling about their politicians for them to get re-elected. A couple days ago, President Trump kicked off his rally to get people fired up about voting him in for 4 more years, and the response was less than ideal for him. The turnout was way, way less than he had hoped for. They had even built a 2nd stage for overflow attendance that was not needed at all.

Now, there are 2 possible reasons for this. 1 is people were afraid of a large gathering due to concerns about spreading the virus. If this is true, then that does not bode well for our economy, as it would mean even if we get to a full re-opening, people will still be hesitant to go out and businesses will suffer more, dragging the economy down. President Trump has frequently tied his presidency around the economy, so if this recession continues into November then it would greatly hurt his chances of re-election. In that case he would want at least another stimulus package to get the economy back on track. He has already talked about this in terms of a travel credit, but that would also lead back to people being concerned about getting the virus when they go out.

The other reason that the turnout could have been so low, is that the people are just overall unhappy with President Trump's performance in the white house. There are many factors involved in that and I’m sure you already have your own opinion on Trump’s performance, so I’ll leave it at that. This leads to 2 interesting bits of trivia from American election history. First, no president has been re-elected when the unemployment rate is over 8%. Since it is currently way, way above that, trump has raised The prospect of a 1 Trillion dollar infrastructure bill. This would put people back to work and get that unemployment rate down. An additional back to work stimulus check has been discussed as well. This would give americans money for returning to work.

The other interesting bit of information is that no wartime president has ever lost re-election. Now, we are not officially at war in the traditional sense, but Trump and other politicians have frequently called our current situation as a war on an unseen enemy. This is meant as a rally for our country, but whether this tactic is going to work or not is still up in the air.

A lot of that will depend on how re-opening efforts go and when we can get back to some semblance of normal. Today Nashville, New Jersey, and New York City move into their next phase of re-opening so i wish the people of these fine cities an awesome day.
