'It's not okay,' Maryland residents plead for help amid high winter energy bills

With the cold, blustery winter, Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) bills from December are now starting to roll in, leaving some residents feeling frustrated and scared over their high bills.
Jenny, a Harford County resident, is now facing an energy bill around $400. She said her home is about 1,000 square feet. While she keeps the temperature in the mid-60's and has taken many steps to curb the cost, she said she is worried about how to pay her energy bill.
"The fear of being turned off, especially with it being you some mornings in the teens, the being fearful," Jenny said. "Can I afford groceries this month, or do I pay this BGE bill and go to food pantries?"
