Through real-life inspired storytelling, the film shows how insults, threats, humiliation, and constant negative language slowly break down a person’s confidence, self-worth, and mental wellbeing.
This segment challenges the belief that “words don’t hurt” by revealing how repeated verbal abuse can lead to fear, isolation, anxiety, and long-term emotional trauma. These invisible scars follow survivors long after the words are spoken, affecting their relationships, choices, and sense of identity.
By highlighting this form of GBV, Invisible Scars calls on individuals, families, and communities to recognize psychological abuse as real violence.
