This week, I swap the chaos of Istanbul for the historic charm of Bursa—and accidentally live out my medieval warrior dreams by trying on an Ertuğrul-style hat (spoiler: I did not look as intimidating as planned). I stroll through the gorgeous Green Mosque, meet the oldest tree in Türkiye (basically a leafy celebrity), and eat so much jam I’m pretty sure my blood sugar now qualifies as a UNESCO heritage site. Then, in a moment of questionable judgment, I hop on a chairlift up Uludağ Mountain in freezing, windy weather—because apparently my idea of fun is dangling mid-air while nature tries to slap me in the face. 🌬️🇹🇷 Buckle up, it’s a ride.
