Research shows that students decide if school is relevant to their futures as early as 4th-5th grade; which means that early college and career experiences are instrumental to ensure that middle school students begin developing postsecondary goals. This is particularly critical for historically underrepresented students of color and those who qualify for free/reduced lunch. This session will discuss why postsecondary awareness starting in elementary and middle school is important and ways to engage this student population effectively.
