Описание: REUNION CONCERT ALQUIN AT AMPCO
On the 9th of January 1987 ALQUIN performed once in the factory warehouse of AMPCO, for the tenth anniversary of this company of the former manager of the band, Eric de Bruijn. He had founded the company after the band broke up in 1977. AMPCO rented out light and sound installations to touring foreign bands on tour through Europe, to pop festivals and to television studios of the Dutch broadcaster for live performances.
The other members of ALQUIN had already picked up the thread and played together more often since a couple of years, but I had chosen a completely different career. So just before this performance I practiced really hard in a short time to be able to drum the 3 songs that I would play along with: New Guinea Sunrise from start of this video till 9:10, Wheelchair Groupie from 26:30 till 30:54, and the encore 'Freddy takes over' from 31:18 till 36:57, followed by more dressing room chitchat.
Because I had experienced that drummers by definition usually don't get much attention in video recordings, I arranged for a good friend to operate my camera. With the instruction: I want to see a lot of myself in the 3 songs that I drum. We succeeded.
And as a bonus you can enjoy the chitchat in the dressing room before and after the performance.
