*Up-Close* Saab 2000 Engine Startup + Takeoff from Hickory Regional Airport | [4K] Planespotting

Описание: Up-close 4K footage of a Saab 2000 engine startup, taxi-out, and takeoff from Hickory Regional Airport on January 29, 2025 during the perfect golden hour lighting!

This was one of, if not the last, Saab 2000 flights into HKY during the 2024-2025 winter season with this one in particular being a simple charter flight from Lafayette, Louisiana. This was my first time seeing a Saab 2000 at my local Hickory Regional Airport and my 2nd time ever seeing a Saab 2000, made extra special with the beautiful golden hour lighting! I was planning on seeing the arrival into Hickory in addition to the engine startup and takeoff, but unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the airport in time and missed it by 10 minutes or so.

I do apologize for the shaky footage as the wind, poor built in camera stabilization, and tight fence I was shooting through made it difficult to get smooth footage.

This Saab 2000, registered N813BB, was first delivered to SAS Scandinavian Commuter in March 1997 under the name "Karl Viking" as SF-LSC and flew with the airline for 4 years before going to Air Bontia in March 2001. Throughout the 2000s and early 2010s this Saab 2000 went to a variety of airlines in several different countries before going to Meregrass in May 2013 which the aircraft still flies for. I've always had a special place for the Saab 2000 and find it to be a very underrated aircraft that deserves more love, even with it being a rare aircraft nowadays, I do hope to continue seeing more in the future!

Note: This was the same day/ evening that American Airlines flight 5342 crashed into the Potomac River at Reagan National Airport. I later found out that the crash happened at roughly the same time this Saab 2000 was landing in Houston.
