This variable router jig has more uses than being a milling template — in this short video, I demonstrate how you can quickly configure this jig with an MFT style table to make thin and repeatable cuts with your track saw of choice. While you can probably fabricate this on your own with extruded aluminum track, I decided to go with the Woodpeckers version since it was only $250 (I bought this with my own money and no affiliate links) and it receives my Festool/Bessey style ratcheting clamps, has imperial and metric marking laser etched, and has a lower profile than 80/20 which results in increased routing depth.
For those who have had heard of the Festool MFS, this has several advantages.
1) It’s available in the US where the MFS has to be shipped in from Germany
2) You can get the WP version for only $250 whereas you must spend over $400 on eBay (the festool version does come with a few little accessories)
3) It has both imperial and metric laser etched markings
4) It uses 2 bolts instead of 1 for securing the rails.
5) The WP are slightly longer than the 400mm rails.
