The 2024 Volvo XC90, a midsize luxury sport utility vehicle, has earned the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety due to its impressive performance in the updated moderate overlap front test. This new version of the test, introduced in 2022, focuses on rear-seat safety with an additional dummy positioned in the second row. The XC90 achieved a good rating, providing excellent protection for the driver and adequate protection for rear-seat passengers. It also features acceptable-rated headlights across all trim levels and a standard front crash prevention system with an acceptable rating in the pedestrian front crash prevention evaluation.
