Our globalised world is becoming ever more complex. Increasingly, events seem to outpace our ability to understand and react to them. Global Studies at the University of Essex is a degree programme that focuses on complex global problems – particularly the so-called ‘wicked’ problems that defy traditional methods of analysis. This video introduces the degree programme and explains how Global Studies at Essex takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining the Humanities and Social Sciences in order to better understand the world in which we live.
