Just the other day I was walking through someone’s camp when I saw a Death Claw walking about. I quickly jumped into my power armor and began to engage the beast. Why was the Death Claw status white and why wasn’t I doing any damage?


I later discovered that the animal had been tamed and was a fixture of that players camp. Yep, there’s still a lot to learn about Fallout 76. So, why was it just now that I learned that this could be done? I had almost a thousand hours logged in the game, but the art of taming never really came across my mind.


I turned to the Naked Vault Dweller Discord channel and began to ask people about taming and if they have ever successfully tamed an animal before. To my surprise, everyone in on the conversation said they the information that was out there was either outdated or very vague.


Queue this taming video. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, I pored myself into taming creatures. I avoided all the tutorials that were on the web and any videos (save one) so I wouldn’t muddy the water. I wanted to put a fresh set of eyes on this whole taming business and I wanted to give the viewers the answer they were looking for.


If you’re looking for a Mega Sloth, Death Claw, a Yoa Guai, or an endless supply of forest creatures, I believe you have come to the right spot. I will try to leave you with more answers than questions and if you invest just a little time, I think you will have virtually any of the available creatures that Bethesda and Fallout 76 have to offer.
