This is an art lesson based on a scene from the Pixar movie Inside out where the characters become "abstracted" and go through four stages of abstraction. I tried to look at the art historical context of the different types of abstraction. At the end there is a short assignment the students can do. This lesson works great as a "flipped classroom" lesson, or if you would like to do this assignment yourself in class, you can download my powerpoint file from the link below:
