Officials in De Soto, Kansas, are celebrating the official opening of the massive Panasonic battery plant. The facility, built on the former Sunflower Army Ammunition site, is expected to provide a massive boost to the local economy. Officials say Panasonic has already invested $4 billion in the massive plant, and they plan to employ more than 4,000 people when it is fully operational in several years.
