In this video, I break down how I actually spent my time during my PhD over the last 4 years.
Since starting my PhD program, I’ve tracked how much time I spend on different activities every week (workload), including writing my thesis, researching, teaching, taking classes, and attending meetings. After 187 weeks of data, I wanted to visualize how my time changed throughout my PhD, semester by semester.
If you’re thinking about doing a PhD, currently in graduate school, or just curious about what PhD students really do, this video will give you a realistic look at how time is spent during a doctorate, even though each student has a very different schedule.
