CAN YOU GET A CRIMINAL RECORD FOR URINATING IN PUBLIC IN NEVADA?
Yes. Even if there are long lines to the only available bathrooms in the vicinity, it is illegal throughout Nevada to relieve yourself anywhere but in a restroom.
Public urination is regulated by local city ordinances in Nevada. It is a misdemeanor that typically includes a fine of up to $1,000 and/or possibly up to 6 months in jail.
If you do not clean up after yourself, you could also be charged with the Nevada misdemeanor of littering. And depending on where and how you relieve yourself, you could also face charges for the Nevada gross misdemeanor of indecent exposure. Gross misdemeanors carry up to 364 days in jail and/or $2,000 in fines.
Possible defenses to Nevada charges of public urination or defamation are necessity (there were no other reasonable alternatives) or a medical condition.
