In this video I look at how to use an aviation fuel tester to confirm the purity of a sample of fuel drained from an aircraft.
Contrary to popular belief, I recommend sampling fuel any time the aircraft has been refuelled, not just after the A check. If you're hiring from a club, can you guarantee that the A check was done to your standards? A fuel check takes two minutes but one day you might be glad you didn't find water in the tank the hard way - just after rotation with a line of trees straight ahead!
Remember, this is for demonstration purposes only and you MUST NOT try to re-enact anything you see here. It also is important that training is always obtained from a properly qualified instructor.
