Brass was going to carry on with airstrikes if the unit could not get trucks unstuck by the next day. Such an order was given dud to the extremely hostile environment as LLVI chatter revealed hundreds of fighters were congregating & organizing to overrun the stuck platoon and take the trucks. With them having our location dialed in due to the length of being in one terrible low spot, they were going to shell the area prior to ambush. Luckily, all of the vehicles were unstuck before an attack occurred and before any air mission was off the ground for the ultimate annihilation of all of the five v1.0 MATV’s which each had less than 500 total driven miles on the odometer. Was a somewhat classified vehicle still at the time which would have been the worst OPSEC incident at the time if the Taliban got their hands on one.
