We watch as Burlington Northern EMD SW1200 #165 pulls and spots a boxcar from Northwest Manufacturing. They are an industrial glue manufacturer on the layout and they also occasionally get tank cars with chemicals. Boxcars will either come in empty or loaded with raw material. Glue is shipped out in boxcar in industrial drums or cans.
Northwest Manufacturing also shares a rail spur with Midstate Molasses which requires trains to run down the middle of Main Street. There was no work for this industry on today’s local however.
