STORY: Cid Highwind is a pilot from Rocket Town who dreamed of one day going to space.

Years later, when Cloud and company arrive in the city, Cid receives the information that Rufus is going to the city and hopes it is to reopen the project. Upon verifying that it is a lie and that they wanted to take away his foal, after fleeing the city along with Cloud's group, he joins the group.

He is a great pilot capable of handling any ship, no matter if it is in the worst condition. He is also capable of driving other types of land vehicles thanks to his natural piloting ability, including trains or buggies.
