On December 7, 2009 Susan Cox Powell was reported missing from her home in West Valley City, Utah. Her husband Josh Powell was a person of interest in her disappearance, but was never charged. Two years after Susan's disappearance Josh Powell killed himself and their sons a double murder-suicide.

This month --February 2022--skeletal remains were found in a mine, and suspected to be Susan's. Susan's best friend Kiirsi Hellewell shares her reaction to today's news with Lauren Matthias.

Lauren Matthias has worked as an anchor and reporter for ABC, NBC, and FOX News in East Idaho, Boise, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah. She spent a decade reporting on a diverse range of topics from high profile crimes to Presidential visits. Most recently, she reported for Salt Lake City’s ABC affiliate News4Utah.
