Описание: Maybellene was Chuck Berry's first single and his first hit record. Unusually for a black recording artist with a background in rhythm and blues (and jazz), Chuck gave this song a distinctly country feel. It was written and recorded in 1955, and was inspired/adapted from the Western Swing fiddle tune "Ida Red" (recorded in 1938 by Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys). 'Maybellene' tells the story of a hot rod race and a broken romance. Sometimes the title is misspelt 'Maybelline', like the make-up company.
