I recently purchased this Autococking Sniper 1 off ebay. The seller didn't have the serial number listed so I asked what it was and he replied "It's stamped '2.'" Find the associated article at https://paintballhistory.com/wgp-auto...
In 1986, Stan Russell and Earon Carter developed the direct feed long barrel Sheridan pump Annihilator and began selling them in Southern California. Stan had struck a deal with Steve "Gunner" Tetz that Gunner would be the only seller at Sat Cong Village. Bud asked Stan if he could sell or purchase some Annihilators and he was told he would have to go through Gunner. Annoyed that Stan would not sell directly to him, Bud decided he would make his own paintgun. The Sniper was the result.
Sniper 1, serial number 2, was likely built by Bud Orr in the spring or summer of 1987 and then later converted to an Autococking Sniper 1 in the summer of 1991. The tanks dates September 1991 but I'm thinking this might have been converted a little earlier.
