Описание: Day 12 – Be Your Own Best Friend

Today’s piece took me somewhere new.

I began with soft, flowing purples in the background—familiar, comforting—and then followed an instinct to try something I’d never done before. Using acrylic paint and my palette knife, I added bold strokes of black, turquoise, and gold. It was a step outside my usual process, and it felt exciting, a little scary, and honestly, really empowering.

That’s why today’s quote feels so aligned:

“You are your best friend. Treat yourself with respect and love.”

Because honoring your creative curiosity is a form of self-respect.
Trying something new, even when it’s unfamiliar—that’s love.
Letting yourself play, explore, and surprise yourself without judgment? That’s the kind of friendship we should be offering to ourselves every single day.

This painting is part of my journey leading us toward the Ink & Blooms 5-Day Alcohol Ink Challenge, starting April 21st. And what this daily practice is teaching me is that self-love isn’t always about bubble baths and quiet moments. Sometimes, it’s about letting your wild colors out. About picking up the palette knife and saying, Let’s see what happens.
