(5 Sep 2019) Thousands of people have marched to parliament in Cape Town in a bid to fight back against gender-based violence.
Dressed in black and holding posters and signs the protesters came together at the Louis Botha Statue.
Women shared their stories of sexual assault and also commemorated the lives of murder victims including Uyinene Mrwetyana, Anine Booysen, Reeva Steenkamp, Jesse Hess and more.
President Cyril Ramaphosa cancelled his commitments at the World Economic Forum on Africa and promised to address the crowds.
