We get quite a few questions about the look back times on drug testing or long can you track past drug use. Specifically, people may be looking for more of a lifestyle test that will “look-back” 30, 60, or 90 days. One of the tests more commonly used for this is hair testing. For hair testing, you can use either head hair, if they have enough head hair which is at least an inch and a half or more, or potentially body hair.

But what if the person being tested does not have enough of either one of those or maybe they want a little bit longer look-back time? something that is not as well-known and it's a little more challenging to get set up is called fingernail testing. Fingernail testing can look back up to about six months, you can mix fingernails and toenails and potentially go back to a year.
