The humanitarian situation in Haiti's Artibonite department is worsening as armed groups expand control, restricting UN access. On December 15, six people were killed and others injured in an attack in Verette, where houses and agricultural storage facilities were set ablaze. Assailants also attempted to burn the Albert Schweitzer Haiti Hospital but were repelled by security forces.Earlier, attacks in L’Estère, Pont-Sondé, Descordes, and Liancourt displaced over 11,000 people. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) continues to monitor the situation, with aid mobilized for delivery as soon as security conditions allow.
