The Government Chief Whip, Hamson Obua, has described the recent Lango leaders’ meeting as a historic turning point aimed at fostering unity and accelerating development across the Lango sub-region following the 2026 General Elections.
The high-level engagement drew ministers, Members of Parliament, LC5
and LC3 chairpersons, ambassadors, religious leaders and civil society
actors, all meeting under what organizers described as the “peace
pillar”, as Uganda recovers from the recently concluded General
Elections.
The gathering opened with a powerful prayer session led by the Lango
Religious Forum, setting the tone for reconciliation, harmony, and
renewed solidarity.
The meeting aimed at healing post-election divisions and shaping a
five-year development agenda for Lango.
