Jang-e-Azadi is located at Kartarpur, Punjab in the Amritsar-Jalandhar Highway. It is a recently developed museum and is one of the mega projects in the state which is spread over 25 acres of land. It is a memorial for all the Punjabis who sacrificed their lives during the Indian Independence. It also gives a detailed picture of the culture of Punjabis and India.
Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal laid the foundation stone of the Jang-e-Azadi memorial on 19 October 2014 and actual work started on 26 March 2015. A committee of historians, journalists and intellectuals was constituted to finalize the action plan and concept of the memorial to be built up.
