Fortnite DirectX 12 Crashing FIX (This Finally Worked)

Описание: Fortnite DirectX 12 Crashing Fix (DX12 Random Crashes / Freezing)

I was having random Fortnite crashes while using DirectX 12. DX11 and Performance Mode worked fine, but DX12 looks much better with the improved lighting, shadows, and newer rendering features.

After trying multiple fixes, this combination finally stopped the crashes for me. I’m not 100% sure which individual step fixed it, so try them one by one or apply them all.

Fixes I tried:

1) Disable Windows Exploit Protection settings for Fortnite
Open Windows Security
Go to App & Browser Control
Scroll down to Exploit Protection Settings
Open the Program Settings tab
Click Add program to customize
Choose Exact file path
Select:

FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe

Usually found here:

C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64

Change these settings:

Control Flow Guard (CFG) → Override → OFF
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) → Override → OFF
Randomize memory allocations (Bottom-up ASLR) → Override → OFF

Click Apply and restart.

2) Disable Xbox Game Bar / Background Recording

Windows Settings → Gaming

Turn off:

Xbox Game Bar
Background recording
“Record what happened”
3) Clean install NVIDIA drivers
Download latest NVIDIA drivers
Choose Custom Installation
Tick Perform a clean installation

(optional: use DDU in Safe Mode for a deeper clean)

After reinstall:

Open NVIDIA App / GeForce Experience
Select Fortnite
Press Optimize

This fixed my Fortnite DX12 crashes and allowed me to keep DirectX 12 enabled instead of switching back to DX11 or Performance Mode.
