Healing mantras can be used to increase the resonance in what are often called the four lower bodies: the physical body, the emotional body, the mental body, and the etheric body. When you are producing sound by chanting a mantra, you are literally giving yourself an internal massage.

The etheric blueprint is a pattern in the higher realms of perfection. Unfortunately, shocking or highly disturbing experiences in life can cause one or more of the four lower bodies to become misaligned. This results in weakness at various levels and vulnerability to accidents or forces that oppose your efforts at spiritual and personal growth.

Mantras help to bring various aspects of consciousness into alignment or resonance. This is also connected to breath and the practice of pranayama. The energy that is carried by the air element is the real power behind the practice of pranayama. Likewise, mantras require measured breathing which also regulates the heartrate. All of these different aspects show the ways in which mantras affect the subtle or spiritual aspects of our lives.
