When I sank my aching shovel in the sand, I knew I had cheated death again and this emboldened me.
For some reason, the beach was lousy with Zoomers today, and they kept coming over to ask what I was doing.
I explained that I was in a race against the clock to build a mountain of sand to touch the sun at the exact moment it slipped under the horizon.
“That’s fire, bro,” they kept saying.
Is that the argot now? A thing is “fire?”
Well, I suppose it is!
