About: Daniel Garlitsky comes from a long line of musicians in his family. He is classically trained and before catching the jazz bug, had a lucrative career as a classical musician and was teaching at the Conservatoire de Paris. As soon as he discovered jazz, his career took a 180 degree turn and now he devotes himself almost full time to jazz and swing music. He is highly influenced by the much older generation of jazz musicians such as Stéphane Grappelli, Michel Warlop, Joe Venuti, Louis Armstrong, and many pioneers of 1930s jazz.
